Juicy pear, bright lime, and a black tea finish make our Rwanda Fugi Kiyonza Hill a lively, refreshing cup. We roast it light-medium to highlight its sweetness and layered character.
One hill, sixty growers
Grown by 60 smallholder farmers around Kiyonza Hill, this Red Bourbon coffee is processed at Fugi washing station in Rwanda’s Southern Province. We source it through Sundog Trading, working with Emmanuel Rusatira’s Baho Coffee.
Kiyonza Hill is part of Baho’s effort to keep coffees from individual hillside communities separate. This allows each community’s coffee to develop its own identity and gives recognition to the farmers behind it.
At Fugi, cherries are carefully sorted before the coffee is fermented, washed, and slowly dried on raised beds. Baho also supports participating farmers with agricultural training, seedlings, and contributions toward health insurance.
The result is a distinctive coffee that connects the character of one hillside with the work of the people who cultivate it.
